ABOUT ME
My name is Jonathan Klages and I am a professional Hockey player. Despite my young age, I have accumulated a lot of knowledge throughout my short time on earth. I have been an athlete for roughly 18 years now. In these 18 years as an Athlete, Student & Son I have experienced set backs, devastating casualties as well as glorious victories. I have experienced Life at its finest, but also had a chance to grow at its darkest times.

I joined the American National Team in 2017. Since then I have won

ABROAD EXPERIENCES
2016 I was lucky enough to receive the chance to go play for Atletico San Sebastian in Spain. I played for the Spanish club for 2 years, where I learned and improved a lot.

GERMAN NATIONAL TEAM
2012- 2015
2012 I made the Try outs for the German National Team. I made the try outs and started playing caped Games for the German U16 and German U18 squad. Due to an injury I fell out of the Squad in my last year of the U18 Team.
BERLIN SELECTION (BHV)
2007 - 2012
The Berlin selection is a group of talented players who try out and then can become a part of an elite training group. This group trains 1x a week which is additional to the normal Club training. At the age of 13-14 you start competing with the other selection nationally. 2012 we won the German Championship with the berlin squad.
BERLINER HOCKEY CLUB
2008 - 2016
I started playing for the Berliner Hockey Club at the age of 11. My fundaments that have been built up until then are now growing. BHC was known for its competitive level, which was exactly what I was looking for. We competed for the berlin championships, the qualifiers for the German Championship and the German Championship. 2010 we became German Champions.
START OF THE CAREER

I started my Hockey career at a lokal Field Hockey Club in Berlin at the age of five. I played for the club Z88 until I was 10 years old. Here I learned all the basics that would create the opportunities that I will later on receive.

JOHN. F. KENNEDY SCHOOL
I have attended the John. F. Kennedy International school in Berlin Germany. I went to JFK from preschool until 10. grade. I finished my MSA - Mittlerer Schul Abschluß there.
2013 - 2016
POELCHAU - ELITE SCHOOL FOR SPORTS
After 10. Grade I attended the Poelchau -Elite School of Sports, to pursue my career as an athlete. The School system combined the regular school with additional training. At this time it was usual to train about 8-9 times in a regular school week. Club and school training counted together.
2019 - present
FERN UNIVERSITÄT HAGEN
I have started my BA in Educational science, which I am studying at the University for abroad studies in Hagen.
MY FIELDS OF EXPERTISE
Throughout my career as a Son, Student, Friend & an Athlete I have been in touch with Life in its fullest form. I have seen very dark places, suffered severe stress, mourned over deaths and just the regular stuff for a Adolescent. But I have also seen the bright side of Life. Felt incredible Love, compassion, the sweetness of a last second victory and also personal achievements. All these experiences have formed the mind set which I am utilizing today to make the most of my career.
GOALKEEPING
In 18 years of goalkeeping I have trained with numerous professionals, coaches and clinics. I have worked over 10,000 hours to perfect my craft and my execution of actions.
